Hi sorry haven't been to regular at putting up post on Bathing to help your skin as I said I would.
So back now to do one for you on Problem Skin. I know all of us have some form of problem skin, but what I mean is skin with Blemishes and Spots (pimples), yes the ones we really love to have and we all get at some stage,whether young or young:-) sure you know what I mean there. Bathing can help these types as well as any other problem type skin you might have. As I have said before it's just finding the right Oils that suit you.
Please do remember never to use to much oil in the bath as this can do more harm than good. Sorry to repeat myself for those that read my blog. But it is very important to understand and learn about the oils you are using. Always read the labels first. Only use amounts given and also the amount I give is what I use for my skin type. These bathing remedies and tips are my own remedies or should I say my Mum's and her Mum and so on down the line.
So what do we do, we first prepare the bath and bathroom. Get the relaxing music, close the doors, turn off the phone and get ready to relax. Run your bath. I say this because it is actually part of the healing process. The more relaxed you are in the bath the more relaxed your skin is.
Make up a mixure of two drops Lavender Oil
and two drops Tea Tree Oil;
Once your bath is at your decided warmth not to hot I hope.
Just add mixture to bath, lay back and relax. 20 minutes in a bath of oils is usually long enough, don't want you turning into a prune.
The reason these Oils work so well is they are known for their antibacterial properties and they are both calming oils.
If you have a real bad problem with spots and pimples, you can just dab them with neat Tea Tree oil.
But if you don't like the smell of Tree Tea you can also use the Lavender Oil the same way. I have used this dab a pimple with either of these oils lots of times. The Tea Tree oil I feel for me anyway even though it does smell yuk, works wonders.
Good idea to wear clothes made of cotton as I'm sure you know synthetic fabrics can irritate some skin types.
Hope you enjoy your bath, even if you have no problems with your skin, you can never beat a bath to wash away the stresses of life.

Bathing To Help Your Skin
We all have different skin types. Dry Skin, Problem Skin, Sensitive Skin, and if you are lucky Normal Skin. But we all feel sometimes it would be lovely to just soak away the problem.
Well there are some bathing remedies to help most skin types. Even if it's just to relieve sun burnt skin, which I gave you a remedy for in post "Another Bathing Remedy". So this time we'll start with Dry Skin.
Dry Skin
Which is probably the most common, as when I was a hairdresser dry hair would have been the most asked for advise.
Dry skin is usually caused by yes the plain old climate. And with all the air conditioners/heaters around today we can't just blame the weather. Also stress and our diet add to the problem.
So what relief can we get from a bath, well lots if you work at it a bit.
First run a nice warm bath, not a boiling hot one that a lot of us like to have, as that will just make your skin to sensitive. When using oils in the bath , you must remember never to just pure heaps of natural oils into a bath. They can be very Strong and do more harm to your skin than good. Also if you are pregnant always read the labels on bottles first.
Get your nice smoothing music ready, close the door to keep all the lovely aromas in and get ready to relax and hydrate your skin at the same time.
Mix together two drops of Sandalwood and two drops of Rose Oil, add this to the bath. You can also add, (and this is not as bad as it sounds) Vegetable oil, 2 teaspoons is enough. Or Sweet Almond Oil or Jojoba will help to boost up the hydrating process.
Relax in bath, and using you hand rest it on the surface of the water, you'll notice some of the oil will be settled there. Use your hand as you would a sponge and gently smooth the oil over your skin. Sometimes we have only one area of our body that is really dry, well work on that area the most.
Don't let bath water get to cool, top it up to keep at an even temperature.
Once had enough just blot dry your skin with a soft cotton towel, sometimes just using your hands as a towel works wonders to. You will notice skin doesn't need a lot of drying as oils have locked in the moisture.
As we all know after soaking in a bath it's advisable to drink a good amount of water. Taking a Evening Primrose vitamin tablet helps Dry Skin hugely too.
Something I used to do when hairdressing, as you can imagine hairdressers hands would have to be the driest out there. I would use a teaspoon of vegetable oil or really my favourite Sweet Almond oil, mainly because of it's beautiful aroma. OK oil plus lots of Sugar. Really rub it all into your hands, adding more oil or sugar as needed. It is so wonderful for lifting dry skin and leaving them feeling so soft. Just run hands under cool water to get rid of any excess sugar once you feel your hands have had enough, rub hands together to dry them. Really this can be used on your feet or any other part of your body that is really dry too.
And why not give a friend in need a hand massage, that way your hands get worked on at the same time.
